CLEPSYDRA from the Interreg EURO-MED programme, aims to develop and test monitoring systems for a better interpretation of the aquifers hydrogeological data and improving the environmental dimension of socioeconomic activities, especially in the agriculture field.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION IN ONE PARAGRAPH
CLEPSYDRA is an interreg project financed by the EURO-MED programme. The 9 partners involved from the Mediterranean area (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Malta and Greece), work together to develop and test a smart and comprehensive system, such as Decision Support System, for monitoring and interpreting hydrogeological data on the behavior of aquifers. A special attention is given to groundwater quality in the field of agriculture and irrigation activities because of the nitrate’s pollution. Tools developed in CLEPSYDRA will allow to improve the environmental dimension of socioeconomic activities. To implement the project 4 main activity is developed: assessment of monitoring capacities in pilot areas and identification of key gaps, tools development for groundwater data monitoring and interpretation, piloting in real conditions, capacity building and social awareness.
